If you've driven around the country there's something that can be seen from Maine to Nevada. A sight that many interstate highway travelers are used to, but hasn't made it over to our neck of the woods yet.

Well, according to the Asbury Park Press, if all goes as planned Cracker Barrel may be making its first foray east of Burlington County soon.

According to reports, the chain is taking a long, hard look at Freehold as the possible location of their first restaurant in the shore area.

Right now the closest Cracker Barrel is out in Hamilton, right where routes 130 and 195 meet.

It's looking like the chain is targeting the Freehold Marketplace Shopping Center on West Main Street for the location.

But don't get too excited just yet, it could be a little while before we can get their famous dumplings, or my favorite, their hashbrown casserole, a township Planning Board hearing isn't scheduled until March.
