Pedestrian accident in Marlboro takes township woman’s life
A Marlboro Township woman is dead after being run down by a pickup truck early Wednesdy, in the section of town where she lived. Police seek witnesses as they pursue their investigation.
Officers responded around 6:12 AM to a report of an accident on Route 79 near Ridge Road, in the Wickatunk section.
ZhenChun Qi, 58, was hit by a 2005 Ford 150 pickup, driven by Patrick Warnock, 59, of Freehold, police said. Marlboro first-aiders rushed Qi to Bayshore Community Medical Center in Holmdel, where she died shortly afterward, police said.
The section of state highway was closed for about three hours during crash scene investigations. Marlboro PD Corporal Richard Borowsky is continuing the probe and seeks information pertinent to the incident.
