Ocean County Man charged with Child Luring

A Tuckerton man faces child luring charges after allegedly following a 12-year-old girl around the Ocean County Library on Friday and passing her an inappropriate note with his phone number.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the girl alerted police. Undercover detectives with the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, posing as the minor, arranged a meeting with the man at a predetermined location. When 55-year-old Mark Allen showed up to meet the girl on Saturday, police said he was instead greeted by a 6-foot, 230-pound undercover male officer and arrested.

Authorities charged Allan with second-degree luring or enticing a child and third-degree  endangering the welfare of a child.

He was being held in the Ocean County jail in Toms River on $100,000 bail.
