Nighttime Bridge Repairs Begin at Routes 9 and 166
Nighttime bridge repairs reduce traffic flow in a busy stretch of Toms River, where Route 9 meets Route 166, through October 26.
New Jersey transportation officials say the Parkway overpasses at Exit 83 will require lane restrictions between 9 PM and 6 AM weeknights. It's part of an ongoing $6,000,000 bridge overhaul project that the DOT expects to wrap up in December.
The closures, says spokesman Tim Greeley, will occur at the spot where Route 9 merges with the Parkway and circumvents downtown Toms River. The main road, once solely Route 9, is designated as State Highway 166.
Route 9 runs in tandem with the Parkway in this portion of Ocean County until Exit 80, when it merges again with 166 and continues into Beachwood.
