Are we over-spoiling celebrities?

The big entertainment world news, as we all likely know by now, is the fact that Beyoncé gave birth over the weekend (for real this time). Since that story is being covered ad nauseum, I'd like to talk about something else, the ridiculous accommodations they allegedly demanded.

Now I understand, especially in the post-Diana world and considering the extreme, privacy invading measures that some of the more unsavory media outlets have gone to in order to get a scoop, tight security is warranted. But redecorating "an entire wing" of the hospital?? Sure, we'd all like mood lighting and fancy decorations when we have to visit the hospital, but unfortunately most of us don't have $1.3 million to spend on our every whim.

Here are some other examples of the cushy requests of the rich and famous:

When Katy Perry tours, she demands "two cream-colored egg chairs" in her dressing room.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had Christina Aguilera's pull and could take a police escort to "route...through any potential traffic delay" on our commutes to work?

And if you're hosting Mariah Carey at your place, you best not forget the bendy straws!
