SEASIDE HEIGHTS - Seaside Heights is one of three Jersey communities serving as launch points for a state-run pilot program to combat prescription drug abuse. Police departments in the borough, Little Falls and Vineland will have drop boxes to let people drop unused medications securely, seven days a week. Attorney General Paula Dow says officials hope to expand Project Medicine-Drop to all 21 counties.

TRENTON - New Jersey's most vocal environmental advocacy group rips today's approval of the state's draft strategic plan by the state planning commission without public comment. The Sierra Club contends that developers and special interests would benefit from the proposal's vague approaches to environmental protection, open space preservation and water quality..

TOMS RIVER - The new Shop Rite on Route 37 in Toms River is set to open this Wednesday at 7 am. The store is part of the newly built Crossroads Center which already includes a Staples that's a holdover from the site’s former occupant, the Dover Mall. A Sports Unlimited store is slated to open in December and a Party Fair will open in the new year.

TOMS RIVER - Toms River Police are investigating last night’s robbery of the Wawa on Route 70. A 20 year old man threatened the gas station attendant with a box cutter, demanding cash. He got away in an older dark colored Toyota pick up. There were no injuries. Though this is the third service station robbed this month, police don't believe them to be related.

WILLINGBORO - A Burlington County school closed for two months due to mold will repoen today. It was supposed to take just a week to clean Willingboro High School, however it took much longer. The school was closed in september after several mold infested areas were found in the building.
