A search is under way for the suspect in a brazen midday bank robbery in Toms River. Police seek your help in tracking him down.

The OceanFirst branch on Route 70 near the Lake Ridge development was the target, say police. It's the second of the institution's branches to be hit in less than a week.

Officers fielding the report of a robbery in progress at 12:07 PM today say that the individual showed no weapon but slid a note demanding money to a teller.

He then darted out, running in a westbound direction, say police.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 40 years old, 5'6", thinly built with a "sunken, worn" face. Police say he wore a red pullover hooded sweatshirt, white shorts, a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses with orange mirrored lenses.

The FBI and Ocean County Sheriff's officers are also involved in the investigation. If you think you have information that can lead to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, reach Toms River PD Detective John Bajcic, 732-349-0150, extension 1278.
