Medical issue may have caused single car crash Thursday in Berkeley Township

A medical issued may have been the cause of a single car crash near Route 9 and Harbor Inn Road in Berkeley Township Thursday around 1:30 pm.

Police say the driver of a 2002 Toyota veered off-road and struck a utility pole and is being treated for significant injuries after being flown to Jersey Shore Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.

Bayville Fire Department, Berkeley E.M.S. and Monoc medics were on scene following the accident.
