Manchester Senior Rushed to Trauma Center after 15-Foot Fall
A 74-year-old maintenance volunteer for a Manchester housing complex is in Jersey Shore Trauma Center in Neptune after falling 15 feet to the pavement while trimming a tree.
James Dixon of Holly Street lost his footing while cutting the limb of a tree on Cedar Glen Homes property fronting Willow Street at about 9:14 this morning, say township police.
MONOC paramedics and Quality Medical Transport personnel who assessed Dixon's condition on site called for a helicopter to move him to the Monmouth County trauma center. He was transferred from an ambulance to the chopper at the Manchester Middle School athletic field.
