Manalapan Music Instructor Accused of Spanking Student for Pleasure

A guitar teacher in a Manalapan music school faces a sexual assault charge, accused of spanking a student for several months to achieve sexual gratification.

Frank W. Diliberto, Jr., 60, of Manalapan is charged with sexual assault of a child under age 13 and endangering the welfare of a child. They're second-degree counts, carrying possible prison terms of five to 10 years if convicted.

Monmouth County authorities say Diliberto taught at Musician’s Workshop on Route 9. His bail at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold is set at $200,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent. He is forbidden to have any contact with the alleged victim and is prohibited from returning to the music studio.
