Manahawkin Man Accused of Palming Restaurant Cash

People who paid their bills at Friday's in Manahawkin with cash since last Christmas week apparently took a risk in doing so.

Robert Aceto, 21, a former restaurant employee, is charged with taking money left for payment from last December 28 until May 30 of this year - a total of $3,502. 36.

Stafford investigators believe that Aceto was able to pocket the money by voiding bills run up by customers who paid cash.

Aceto faces a charge of theft by deception and was released to await a municipal court date.
