Atlantic County prosecutors filed aggravated manslaughter charges Tuesday against 39-year-old Yu Zhu, who was being held on $500,000 cash bail.

Zhu initially was facing an aggravated assault charge stemming from the attack on 52-year-old Cheng Jain Lin of New York City. County Prosecutor Ted Housel says Zhu allegedly struck Lin outside the Caesar’s Hotel bus garage, causing Lin to fall and hit his head on the ground.

Lin was taken to a hospital, where he died Monday night. An autopsy determined that he died from complications of his head injuries.

It’s not known what sparked the altercation.
