The search for David Spinks, 55, led Lacey police to his last known dwelling in Lanoka Harbor this past Tuesday night. Spinks, inside a vehicle, caught sight of an approaching officer and bolted through several yards along Hazelton Avenue and into a patch of woods near Sinclair Avenue, police said.

Investigators assisted by two K-9 teams from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office combed the area for several hours, then were informed that other area residents might have helped him evade the search.

While speaking with three men at a Hazelton Avenue house, Spinks was seen inside and attempted to run, police said. The flight was short-lived.

Spinks was placed in the Ocean County Jail on two counts of violating a temporary restraining order, and one count each of obstruction of justice and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $5,000.
