Live Wire Disrupts Brick Township Traffic, School

A live power line that fell outside Brick Memorial High School forced a temporary lockdown there and triggered a small fire, bringing traffic to a crawl, according to township police.

Authorities said that students were sheltered in place as a safety precaution, but that normal dismissal times stayed in place.

Police and flag operators guide drivers through that section of Lanes Mill Road as Jersey Central Power and Light crews set about repairs. They've recommended avoiding the area if possible.
