Little Egg Harbor official accused of kid porn possession

The Vice Chairman of the Little Egg Harbor Board of Adjustment awaits a court hearing, accused of storing hundreds of lewd images of adults with children on his home computer.

Issat Farat (Joseph) Yusuf, 84, was apprehended Wednesday by members of the Ocean County High Tech Crime Unit, according to information from the office of County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

The search at Yusuf's home stemmed from an investigation begun by Stafford Township Patrolman Joseph Luna and Detective Drew Smith, with cooperation from county digital crime detectives and Little Egg Harbor police, authorities said.

Several other unidentified items were confiscated for inspection, authorities said.

Yusuf was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was given no option for release on payment of 10 percent.

His possession of child pornography charge is third degree, which carries a potential prison term of three to five years on conviction.
