Lakewood Landlords Must Pay For Tenant Cleanups

After the tenants move out,  the bulk trash left behind is the landlord's responsibility to clean up in Lakewood.

The Township Committee passed a measure Thursday that charges landlords for tenant home cleanups.

The Lakewood Scoop reports the resolution could save the Township hundreds of thousands of dollars annually.

In the past, landlords would put bulks of trash outside to be picked up by the Department of Public Works.

Now, the responsibility falls on the landlord to get rid of the trash.
