Lakehurst Crash Cripples Route 37 Traffic

Traffic on two busy mid-Ocean County highways resumes normal pace in the wak of a serious midafternoon collision at the Lakehurst Circle, where Routes 37 and 70 intertwine.

Lakehurst and Manchester police removed roadblocks from each side of Route 37 shortly before 4 PM. Authorities have not disclosed the extent of possible injuries, or whether the crash cost anyone's life.

Police barricaded Route 37 between Union Boulevard and Colonial Drive. The closure impacted traffic flow there and added to the hectic pace on Route 70 as more drivers sought to avert the tieup.
