It's arguably one of the first signs of summer at the Jersey Shore. You guessed it. Summer businesses seeking to fill its ranks before the summer tourism season begins. One of the biggest efforts ... is the Jenkinson's annual summer job fair taking place this Saturday, February 28th and Sunday, March 8th at the Jenkinson's Pavilion Restaurant at 300 Ocean Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach from noon to 3 pm.

State Department of Labor and Workforce Development Spokeswoman Christine Karaska says this is the time to be seen because about 20 managers will be conducting on-the-spot interviews.

"It's the easiest way of getting a summer job. You're coming there, dressed for success (business casual), with a smile on your face and then you have about maybe three minutes to convince someone that they should hire you," said Karaska.

Karaska estimates that Jenkinson's easily needs to hire over 300 people. "So if you're looking for a job, we have ride operators and beach badge checkers, arcade workers, game operators, beach maintenance. It's the full gamut."

However, she advises you to fill out the application in advance and make copies of it to hand out to the managers. Applications can be downloaded at the jenkinsons.com website. She also advises that you bring two forms of I-D as well as your social security card.

Karaska said there are jobs available for applicants as young as 14-years-old. However, she said these positions are not just for the young. People of all ages are encouraged to apply including seniors looking for extra income.
