I hate to talk about politics, especially in a public forum like this.  But I want to go on record as being fully supportive of President Obama's choice of vegetable.  Broccoli rocks!  I don't understand why people find it so hard to believe that the president or anyone could actually love this yummy green vegetable which has lots of nutritional value.  I have been a fan ever since I was a little kid, when my parents encouraged me to eat the "trees" that were on my plate.  Did my affection for this veggie start because of the nice nickname I associated it with?  Perhaps.   Did your parents nickname any foods in your household?  Do you have any "tricks" to encourage your kids or grandkids to eat healthy foods?  Please post in the Comments section.  Here's an article that offers help for getting youngsters to eat right.  http://www.cnn.com/2011/HEALTH/06/02/kids.eat.vegetables.ep/index.html
