If you walked through downtown Toms River today, you may have noticed a new statue going up in the park at the corner of Washington Street and Robbins Street. So what's the story? Well, I can tell you!

The statue is by Toms River artist Brian Hanlon, who has created sculptures that can be seen throughout the country, including a number of works right here at the shore.

Following the popularity of last summer's Seward Johnson sculptures that were placed throughout Toms River, we'll be getting a similar treat this year.

There will be a total of 20 sculptures scattered throughout downtown Toms River for all to enjoy.

For now, you can check out the first resident at the small park at the corner of Washington Street and Robbins Street. As more of the statues make their appearances, we'll keep you updated!
