As the curve keeps on flattening and less and less people are being reported infected or hospitalized our Townsquare Media Jersey Shore News Team will post a weekly report of the cases coming out of Monmouth and Ocean County's instead of a daily report.

In Monmouth County there have been 7,659 positive cases as of Friday morning May 22 with Middletown having the most cases for a single town followed by Freehold Township and Howell, as reported by Monmouth County Freeholders Tom Arnone and Sue Kiley.

Here is how the daily cases break down for Monmouth County this week:

  • Friday May 15: 46 new cases reported bringing total to 7,246.
  • Saturday May 16: 81 new cases reported bringing total to 7,327.
  • Sunday May 17: 42 new cases reported brining total to 7,369.
  • Monday May 18: 79 new cases reported bringing total to 7,448.
  • Tuesday May 19: 79 new cases reported bringing total to 7,527.
  • Wednesday May 20: 70 new cases reported bringing total to 7,597.
  • Thursday May 21: 62 new cases reported bringing total to 7,659.
  • Cases this week: 459.

In Ocean County there have been 8,147 positive cases as of Friday morning May 22 with Lakewood having the most followed by Toms River and Brick, as reported by the Ocean County Health Department.

Here is how the daily cases break down for Ocean County this week:

  • Friday May 15: 57 new cases reported bringing total to 7,771.
  • Saturday May 16: 40 new cases reported bringing total to 7,811.
  • Sunday May 17: 78 new cases reported bringing total to 7,889.
  • Monday May 18: 53 new cases reported bringing total to 7,942.
  • Tuesday May 19: 70 new cases reported bringing total to 8,012.
  • Wednesday May 20: 100 new cases reported bringing total to 8,112.
  • Thursday May 21: 35 new cases reported bringing total to 8,147.
  • Cases this week: 433.
