Friends of the family set up the gofundme campaign hours after the Seidle's death, according to the Asbury Park Press. As of this morning the site has raised more than $11,500.

The couple's nine children range in age from 7 to 24. The youngest child was in the vehicle with her father when authorities said Sgt. Seidle chased his ex-wife through Asbury Park and killed her in front of their daughter.

Seidle filed a divorce complaint in 2013, accusing her husband of domestic violence and having an affair, according to court documents. They divorced last month after a 15 year marriage.

Meanwhile, Seidle was remembered as a deeply religious, dedicated mother and "town mom," who was was kind and loving at a prayer vigil Wednesday night. Some 250 people attended the special service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Asbury Park, where Seidle worked as a director of religious education, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Philip Seidle remains jailed on $2 million cash bail, after a judge Wednesday refused to lower it. Seidle's attorney unsuccessfully argued his client had no prior criminal record and no official domestic violence record.
