WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Former governor Jon Corzine is stepping down from running the securities firm that collapsed after his disastrous bets on European debt. MF Global says Corzine resigned as chairman and CEO. And it says he will decline a golden parachute worth $12.1 million, including cash and benefits.

JACKSON - Another theft reported at the Jackson Premium Outlets, this time at the Calvin Klein store. Police say two men with armed with garbage bags stole hundreds of shirts valued at more than $7200 while two others distracted store employees. It happened Sunday and was captured on surveillance video. Anyone who can help the probe can call police at 732-928-1111. A Zales store was also robbed this week in the same shopping center.

LAKEWOOD - The suspect who shot an 18-year-old Lakewood woman Wednesday in an apartment complex is still on the loose but the victim is healing. Dasha Brown is being treated for a shoulder wound at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

LONG BRANCH - A Long Branch mother is in hot water after allegedly leaving her two young children in her Second Avenue apartment so she could go on a date. Reports say 21-year-old Christy Bell was arrested Tuesday and charged with endangering the welfare of her 3 and 4 year old children. She's in the Monmouth County Jail unable to post $35,000 dollars bail.

FORKED RIVER - A Forked River man is sitting in the Ocean County Jail on $50,000 bail after allegedly setting a pickup truck at his house on fire. Lacey Police arrested 39-year-old Robert Roefaro just after midnight last night after responding to the truck fire on Evans Road. Roefaro reportedly returned to his home to set the blaze after leaving earlier following domestic dispute.

CAMDEN - A New Jersey corrections officer is one of two suspects charged with conspiring to extort an inmate in the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility in Burlington County. Federal prosecutors say 34-year-old Jermel Brown and 23-year-old Maurice Brown-Harden of Camden used Brown's position to smuggle in mobile phones and music players last year and this year...getting 12,000 from the inmate...who is a cooperating witness. Each could get up to 20 years if convicted.
