A huge blaze broke out in the early morning hours at the Ocean Beach Marina in Lacey Township.

Five boats were destroyed as a result.  According to the police department, several fire companies responded to fight the fire including Lanoka Harbor, Forked River and Bayville.

The fire appears to have started a little after 1 a.m. on one boat before spreading to four others.  It burned for well over an hour before being put out.  No one was injured.  A nearby telephone pole was damaged and JCP&L was called in as a precaution.

The boats were currently in dry docked for the Winter season.

The Lacey Township Detective Bureau is investigating the cause and origin along with the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
