Extended Traffic Snarl in Toms River
There's traffic trouble near the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, and it looks like it'll be there for a while.
Police tell us that they've blocked the intersection of Hooper and Bay Avenues for replacement of a traffic signal that was toppled by a tractor-trailer.
The 18-wheeler mishap resulted in falling wires and knocked out power at the busy crossroads.
New Hampshire Avenue, Old Freehold Road and Route 166 are nearby alternate north-south routes, but expect traffic to be more crowded than it normally is.
