The brilliant career of an Eatontown Police Detective flames out with his confession to requesting sexual favors from a female suspect. 33-year-old Phililip Emanuele of Brick agreed to forfeit the career he began in 2004 in a Monmouth County courtroom today after pleading guilty to criminal coercion and tampering with evidence.

According to the Asbury Park Press, Emanuele began asking a female he arrested at the Monmouth Mall in December on a theft charge for sex. He also admitted to flushing drugs found in her possession down a toilet. He also discussed dropping all charges against the woman in February after making her a confidential informant.

Officials in the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office says the married father of two faces a probationary term and is also barred from all future public employment. There's no word on if he must relinquish his pension.
