Do You Agree With This Choice For The Best Ice Cream In NJ?

As summer inches ever closer, one of the best things to enjoy on a steamy summer weekend is a big, cold cone or bowl of ice cream. Here in Ocean County we have plenty of creameries churning out home made frozen treats, but one website has named what they consider to be the best in the state.

Foursquare embarked on a mission to name the best ice cream in every state.

Their pick for The Garden State?

The Bent Spoon in Princeton.

They singled out the classy creamery for its, "inventive, seasonal and totally mind-blowing flavors", including, "lavender marscapone, habanero and heirloom tomato sorbet".

Now look, I don't mean to be a snob but when I think of the best ice cream I think of the classics - mint chocolate chip, cookies & cream, coffee, etc. Sure, there's a market for getting a little inventive, but I think that "The Best" isn't the same as "the most unusual".

Give me Rich's, Yellow Brick Road, Mrs. Walker's, or Hoffman's any day of the week!
