Fatal One Car Crash in Jackson

Troical Storm Andrea may be to blame for another fatal accident in New Jersey, this one in Jackson.

Police say a woman is dead after her car struck a tree off East Veterans Highway late Friday night.

According to the Ocean County Police Blotter Facebook page, a steady rain was falling when the accident occurred around 11:40 p.m. between Melissa Lee Drive and Pitney Lane.

Police say the woman was driving westbound on East Veterans Highway when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Police have not released the name of the victim. The accident is under investigation.
