Crash Leaves Whiting Residents Homeless
A home in Manchester's Whiting Section is deemed uninhabitable after a township man crashed through it this morning. At around 10 a.m., Police said 80-year-old George Leo left the roadway, drove over two lawns, collided into a mailbox, a flag pole and through the garage of a Sunset Avenue home before coming to a stop.
Police said the flagpole also flew through the air on impact and struck the side of a separate residence on Sunset Avenue, damaging the roof lining and gutter.
The resident inside was not injured but Leo was taken to community for observation.
The crash is being investigated by Patrolman Michael Lynch of the Police Traffic Safety Section.
