Lakewood police responding to a suspicious persons report, arrest a man in possession of counterfeit heroin Thursday night. 31-year-old Darnell Reeves was reportedly combative when police arrested him in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd and Cedarbridge Avenue. He was found with 87 bags of imitation heroin but faces the same charges as though they were real.

Reeves was charged with obstruction, resisting arrest, possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS), possession of CDS with intent to distribute, and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park. Bail was set in the amount of $45,000.
