As I was debating what I was going to do for lunch today, happy coincidence struck when a co-worker gave me the heads up that Bagel Bistro & Grill on Main Street right in downtown Toms River was under new ownership, open, and ready to feed the masses!

I stopped in to chat with new owner Sonia and chef Pete to get the lowdown on their grub.

They just came in and opened up under their leadership last Monday, and are serving up breakfast and lunch classics, like my lunch choice - the Jersey staple of pork roll, egg & cheese on one of their massive bagels:

It was everything that you'd want from a Garden State favorite - plenty of pork roll (and yes, we did have a mini-debate about whether it's "pork roll" or "Taylor ham", but that's a whole different article!), lots of melted cheese, a fried egg seasoned to perfection, and a gigantic, fresh, chewy and doughy bagel.

Sonia tells me that their paninis are their signature sandwiches, and they're serving up omelettes, homemade pancakes and french toast, wraps and more, fresh from their cozy little kitchen.

You can stop by and say hi to Sonia and Pete at 65 Main Street in Toms River, 7am - 4pm during the work week and 7am - 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Be sure to tell them that WOBM sent you!
