Delish gave the heads up that 2 spice companies are recalling products over concerns about Salmonella. The article explains that Sauer Brands is recalling spices from their Spice Hunter line (click here to see the FDA's list of affected spices), and Red Monkey Foods is recalling spices that were sold at Walmart and Cost Plus World Market. You can check out the FDA's list of items here.

What happens if you find one of these spices in your pantry? Delish says you can return them to the store you bought them for a full refund. Spices are EVERYTHING when it comes to cooking (I cover my oatmeal in cinnamon every morning.) But, no dish is worth potentially getting sick over! Thankfully, the article shares that no illnesses have been reported yet.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Many of the affected spices can be used in holiday dishes (parsley, garlic, cinnamon, PUMPKIN PIE SPICE!) Make sure you run through your cabinets before you do any Thanksgiving cooking. Better safe than sorry.
