Steven Stone, 27, faces a second-degree charge of distribution and a third-degree count of possession, according the Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato.

Detectives of the county's High Tech Crime Unit, Brick Township police and U.S. Homeland Security searched Stone's Gloucester Drive dwelling Thursday as part of the Prosecutor's Cyber Child Pornography Drag Net.

Investigators said that Stone was actively downloading and sharing images and movies of young children engaging in sexual acts.

When police entered Stone's home, he attempted to destroy the videos and pictures, and tried ripping out the hard drive and breaking it in half, authorities said.

Stone was remanded to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, in lieu of a full $100,000 bail.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
