Brick Republicans announce Congressional Endorsement

The Brick Township Republican Club is supporting Toms River Councilman Maurice “Mo” Hill for Congress in the Third District. Hill also is being endorsed by the Toms River GOP, giving him the backing of Ocean County’s two largest municipal Republican clubs. The two towns also make up over half of the Ocean County registered voters in the District.

Brick’s decision breaks ties with the County Republican Organization, whose screening committee is endorsing former Randolph Mayor Tom MacArthur for the seat being vacated by Congressman Jon Runyan. The County Republican Organization is holding its convention on March 19, at the Toms River Hotel, formerly known at the Holiday Inn.

Meanwhile, the Sierra Club will announce their endorsement in the 2014 Congressional Race today at 11:30am in the Regency Office Complex, 445 Brick Boulevard, in Brick.

Hill has been on the Toms River Council for 11 years and has served as the governing body’s President. He is a retired Navy Rear Admiral who runs a dentistry practice in Brick.

“With the strong support of Brick, Toms River and the other towns and legislative leaders in Ocean County I am confident that I can win the nomination of the Ocean County Republican Party at the convention on March 19, 2014.  I feel that I have the experience, knowledge and leadership to win the election in November and be an effective representative in Washington,” Hill said.
