A Brick Township man is dead after he crashed his motorcycle last night. 

Police say 55-year-old Robert Hand was heading east on Clubhouse Road between Tiller and Boom Lanes when he lost control near a curve, crashed into a mailbox, struck a utility pole and was ejected 90 feet according to Brick Police. Hand laterdied at Ocean Medical Center.

Excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. Clubhouse Road was closed for two hours during the cleanup and investigation.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call Brick Police's Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.
