Brick Council Rejects Lower Salary From Acropolis

Brick Township's Mayor will not work for a dollar.

Reports say the seven member Council voted 4 - 3 against a proposed ordinance to lower Mayor Steve Acropolis' salary from $52,000 annually to a buck.

Acropolis had volunteered to take the huge pay cut because his two full-time public sector jobs was a major issue in November's elections.

Four Democratic challengers were elected and several GOP incumbents were voted out.
