Bill Would Insure Healthy Pets For Sale
Pet shop owners who palm off ailing dogs and cats on unsuspecting customers would have their breeding and dealing licenses revoked if a shore-sponsored state measure becomes law.
The Healthy Puppies & Kittens Assurance Act would create a state registry to log animal health records, set annual breeding limits and organize a canine and cat health board.
It's being introduced by 10th district Senator Jim Holzapfel and Assemblymen Greg McGuckin and Dave Wolfe.
