Atlantic City Lawyer Charged in Teen Sex Assault

An Atlantic City attorney is jailed on $250,000 bail, charged with the repeated sexual abuse of a teenaged girl over a four-year span.

David Alcantara, 44, was arrested following his Tuesday indictment by a grand jury in Mays Landing.

Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor James McClain alleges that Alcantara began abusing the girl in 2006 when she was 14 years old, and continued until 2010. The victim reported it to police last year, triggering the investigation.

Alcantara faces multiple counts, led by first-degree aggravated sexual assault. He was given his first appearance in Superior Court this morning.
