Last week we told you about Exit 89 Northbound opening for business. Well, this week the 89 interchange has expanded further to make exiting Southbound onto Route 70 East even easier.

In the past, you had to get off at the short exit and wait at a busy, cramped, two lane light if you wanted to cross the highway to get onto Route 70 Eastbound, toward Brick.

Now, 89A allows you to take a jughandle and exit directly onto Route 70 Eastbound.

You can still take the old exit to get onto 70 Westbound, as well as the old ramp onto Cedar Bridge Ave.

There is still work to be done at the Exit 89 interchange, though. With all of the exiting lanes now open, they're still working on getting the Parkway entrance ramps open on the Southbound side.

When it's all done, Exit 89 will be a full interchange, allowing travelers to get both on and off the Parkway Northbound and Southbound, with access to both directions of Route 70 and Cedar Bridge Ave from both sides.
