One marijuana plant would have been enough to land Frederick Scheimreif, Jr.,  of Manahawkin, in trouble with police. Twelve only worsened the situation.

Stafford police say an anonymous call about someone growing weed outside his dwelling led them to the 46-year-old's home in a trailer park. Responding officers say they spotted the plant growing in plain view.

That led to a search, in which police say they found several more inside the trailer, and more still in a wooded patch at the end of Oxycoccus Road...an even dozen, all told.

Scheimreif was charged with facilitating a growing operation, possession of more than 10 marijuana plants, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, where a judge set bail at $25,000 with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
