David Earl McBride, 52, was sentenced today in Ocean County Court for the plea he entered December 14, according to the office of County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

McBride has been in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River since his arrest on May 23, 2015. He was ordered to keep adhering to stipulations of the sex-offender law and probation guidelines after he is released.

The original complaint was filed April 25, 2015, in Manchester. Investigators said that McBride failed to list his new address with Manchester PD 10 days before arriving.

Assistant Deputy Public Defender Ernest A. Ryberg represented McBride. Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Ehsan F. Chowdhry sought a five-year sentence, citing the circumstances of the case, McBride's perceived risk of recidivism, prior criminal record and "the need for general and individual deterrence."
