Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel says eight people were taken into custody, and now face drug and weapons charges after a month-long joint investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and Pleasantville Police Department.

Police arrested Antwan Harper, 21, of Atlantic City, Zachary Taylor, 19, of Mays Landing, Bashawn Whitted, 20, of Atlantic City, Rashad Alston, 19, of Pleasantville, and Rosemond Octavius, 18, of Egg Harbor Township.

Housel says four men were armed when they entered the first hotel room.  Police found marijuana, crack-cocaine, and heroine in plain sight.

Authorities were then led to a second hotel room where they arrested Keith Allen, 30, Quashawn Jones, 26, and Emmanuel Neewilly, 19, all of Pleasantville.

The three men were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, theft, possession of a high-capacity ammunition magazine and possession of body armor breaching ammunition.

All the defendants have been taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Bail was set at $100,000.  A first appearance is scheduled for Monday.
