It will be 27 years ago this Palm Sunday, when Raul "Cooks Books" Suarez was killed by an unknown assailant(s) in Absecon.  And still, there is still no suspect in the case.

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers issued a press release Friday stating a $20,000 cash reward will be offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of his murderers.

According to the release, Raul Suarez was brutally stabbed to death in the middle of the eastbound lane of Route 30 just outside the Crest Motel on Palm Sunday March 31, 1985.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel says, "of course the investigation is not closed and I applaud the efforts of Crime Stoppers and all involved in the community to focus the spotlight on this heinous crime."

Suarez was an independent cab driver for 23 years and a well-known local entertainer.  He performed at the 500 club, and he had his own radio show, as well as a TV show called "Cooks Books and Friends."
