Good Weekend Weather Should Make For Ideal Meteor Shower Watching
Just yesterday we showed you video of a rare daytime "fireball" meteor caught on film right here at the shore, and continuing celestial activity coupled with favorable weather conditions for Ocean County could make for some top notch stargazing this weekend.
The Orionid Meteor Shower will peak as we head into the weekend, and barely-there moon phases along with the mostly clear skies that are expected should make for some great opportunities to glimpse a few shooting stars.
As I said just yesterday, there aren't many things that I enjoy more than laying a blanket out and watching the night sky, and it's totally up to chance to have the favorable conditions that we'll enjoy this weekend; mostly clear skies, an early moonset that won't wash out the night sky with light, and relatively mild temperatures (at least for late October), so these are the times that you really should try to carve out at least an hour or two to find somewhere away from light pollution to enjoy some stargazing!
