The event on Thursday June 3 will run from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at 1300 Bay Boulevard and is being hosted and sponsored locally by the New Jersey Warehousemen & Movers Association, who help deliver some of the wreaths, and the Women of the Moose 1248.

"Our members are so generous to take out the time. They go up and down the east coast getting these wreaths that are up in Maine, they're all over the place, and they deliver them to all these cemeteries," Tracy Healy, the Executive Director of the NJWMA, tells Townsquare Media News.

Healy explains that this exhibit is set up in a tractor trailer filled with information you can view to learn more about what the Wreaths Across America organization does to help honor our veterans including showing little films and displaying museum materials.

"It's a public tour, it's free and open to the public," Healy said. "They love to do this exhibit because it brings the local community together, all the veterans, active duty military and their families and they like to bring their kids so they can see what their Dad did when he was serving."

The NJWMA hosting this exhibit event is a small way they are helping the Wreaths Across America non-profit raise awareness and support for what they do to honor our veterans, including those who've made the ultimate sacrifice.

"We're hosting this event for Wreaths Across America so that more people can be aware of this mobile exhibition and just to bring awareness and to honor our nations heroes," Healy said.

There will be social distancing and other Covid protocols in place for the tour of the exhibit as well.

The Wreaths Across America non-profit organization places wreaths on veteran’s headstones at Arlington National Cemetery every year but in 2020 they started doing so at other cemeteries across the country, according to a statement from the NJWMA, placing more than 1.7 million sponsored veterans’ wreaths at 2,557 participating cemeteries.

You can sponsor a wreath to be placed at a veterans headstone for $15 by going to www.wreathsacrossamerica.org.

The non-profit will place wreaths down to help honor all veterans at noon on Saturday, December 18, 2021, as part of their National Wreaths across America Day.
