In any market, if you have liquidity (real money) you can chart your own course.  Bidding wars don’t scare you.  This money tree gives you more creativity.  Ultimately, scoring you the house of your choosing.  Leaving others who are hoping their offers can get secured with their approved mortgage.

Creativity comes in many forms in the housing market.  Buyer’s criteria for their home search come in many different varieties; Single Family, Townhouse, Condo, Bungalow, Cabin, or even a treehouse.

Celebrities always seem to find that one house.  Check this one in Toms River!

What about a house made of shipping containers?

What if I told you a house made of shipping containers exists?

What if I told you it exists in New York City?

Yup, it does, on Monitor Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn New York

Completed in 2016, by two Brooklyn restaurant owners, the structure covers 3,500 square feet, with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.  With each container measuring 25 x 100 feet, this industrial-style home was strategically built using 21 shipping containers.

As Dirt.com points out, the facade complements the rest of this neighborhood's past.  The irony to that past can not be overlooked as the advent of “these shipping container terminals” caused the demise “of the New York City “working waterfronts”.  Williamsburg Brooklyn is one of them.

You could own this “one-of-a-kind” dwelling.  Sort of.  Currently, it is in “pending” status as It’s listed with Jon Capobianco and Quinn Ferree at Compass for a low, low price of $5 million.

Here’s an interesting fun fact perk.  The listing states the home includes “New York City’s last permitted wood-burning fireplace.”  Wow!
