My first memory of the WOBM Bayville Studios ... 1968 On day one I looked up and realised only half the building had a roof on it! ~ Bob Levy
WOBM went on the air March 1, 1968 in these Bayville studios ....in the middle of a snowstorm! What was the first song played on WOBM here in Bayville ? The controversy continues! Many have said "Theme From A Summer Place" by Percy Faith. Alil fun by the WOBM Staff ... Since there was a snowstorm taking place as they played it ? There is also alot of support for "Love Is Blue" by the Paul Mauriat Orchestra. "Love Is Blue" was the #1 Song in America when WOBM debuted ... So it may have been. Do you remeber what the first song was ?
My first memory of the Bayville Studios ... Coming to my job interview wearing a powder blue suit and carrying a box of donuts! ~ Kevin Williams
Currently in time spent here in Bayville.... Bob Levy leads the way ( Nearly 45 Years ) since day one he's been here in Bayville. Coming in 2nd is Kevin Williams, who has spent 33 years of his life coming to work here at the Bayville Campus. Third is George W. Foreman ... who's been here in Bayville for 19 1/2 years! Fourth is myself ( 17 Years ) however it feels like it was yesterday when I first started here in Bayville. My children have grown up knowing "Bayville" as the place Daddy works at. Zach was 3 and Erin a New-Born when I started here .... To put it in perspective Zach is now in College and Erin is driving! Quite a broadcasting journey here in Bayville for me and my family....and a pleasure to serve you our "Radio" family and WOBM's is the BEST!
I have worked with some of the best in the business here in Bayville and have been blessed to have had such a fantastic "broadcasting" experience. I look foward to doing the same in Toms River! We'll be there for you as always......
This building has seen everything from Wars to Holidays .... Births to Deaths .... Blizzards to Hurricanes .... Good Times and Bad Times, but in the end this was always where you came for your "Hometown Station"
