"Growing up can be hard. Without a stable home, positive role models and tools for success, many young Americans fall behind their peers and experience a rocky transition to adulthood"

Wallethub did a recent survey in which they looked into the risk factors for "youth" here in America. The article also broke down the findings for right here in the Garden State. This list is a must read for all Parents, so you at home can see what factors put our "youth" in the "at-risk" category here in New Jersey...Here are their findings and how NJ ranked nationally .... Youth drug use appears to be our biggest problem.

  • 32nd – % of Disconnected Youth
  • 37th – % of Youth Without a High School Diploma
  • 42nd – % of Overweight & Obese Youth
  • 20th – % of Youth Drug Users
  • 51st – Youth Poverty Rate
  • 28th – % of Homeless Youth

New Jersey ranks 20th in Youth Drug Use, but good news is overall New Jersey ranks best in "Idle" youth .... so that's a good thing as well all know as Parents being "idle" can lead to trouble. New Jersey youth had the best "idle" score ... making least at risk in America.
