TRENTON - As of early afternoon, Jersey Central Power & Light executives say they've restored power to two-thirds of their customers who were plunged into the dark during the Saturday snowstorm. That still leaves about 130,000 ratepayers to go. Company officials now expect to restore full service by midnight Friday. It's of little consolation to Robbinsville Mayor Dave Fried who wants to switch to PSE+G.

LAKEWOOD - The future Of Lakewood Township's water supply forms the basis of a conference. Reports say yesterday's session brought out environmental, state and utility officials. The town plans to expand their service area by 40 percent in the coming years. About $20 million is being spent on water improvements thanks to the state Environmental Infrastructure Trust Fund.

ASBURY PARK - Asbury Park Police are seeking the public's help in locating two missing city teenagers. 16-year-old Evelyn Riano was reported missing Sunday night at 10:20 after leaving work from a discount store on Main Street. The teen’s, estranged boyfriend, 18-year-old Edwin Aparicio, was later reported missing Monday night after learning that Riano was missing. Reports say Riano had sent a text breaking up with her boyfriend before her disappearance.

JACKSON - Jackson Police catch up with a motorist suspected in the hit and run collision of a police cruiser Tuesday night. Reports say 45-year-old William Newschafer was arrested at 10 p.m. following a lead for hitting a police car on Veteran's Highway with its emergency lights and siren activated. Veteran police officer Wayne Olejarz suffered shoulder and back injuries. Newschafer is charged with a host of charges which include leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and assault by auto.

TOMS RIVER - A burglary and an attempted burglary are reported at two homes in the Pleasant Plains section of Toms River. Police Chief Mike Mastronardy says on Monday the rear door of a vacant Clayton Avenue home was forced open and various items of jewelry were taken during the day. Then, just before 2:00 Tuesday afternoon, police say someone attempted to force their way into the front door of a home on Grande Woodlands way but was scared off by an alarm.

JACKSON - Jackson Police launch a search for an armed robber who held up a jewelry store at the jackson Premium Outlets Tuesday morning. The suspect robbed the Zales store of jewelry and cash after 10:30 a.m. and fled in a white minivan. Anyone with information is being urged to call police.

ATLANTIC CITY (AP) -- The largest casino workers union in Atlantic City has approved a new contract with four casinos that gives them a raise and doesn't require them to contribute toward their health insurance and pension costs. Beverage servers, room cleaners and other workers represented by Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union approved a three-year contract yesterday with Caesars Entertainment. The pact covers Caesars, Bally's, Harrah's and the Showboat.

TRENTON - One-hundred-twenty local and county law enforcement agencies in Ocean, Monmouth and Burlington receiving from about a thousand to more than $20,000 in state money for bullet-resistant vests. The New Jersey Division Of Criminal Justice is handing out more than $3.5million to about 500 police agencies statewide.

FREEHOLD - Six bright Freehold Township students win honors for their perceptions and reflections of Latino culture. In Freehold Tuesday, the Latino Coalition issued awards and cash prizes to winners of the essay contest tied to September's Latino Festival. Winners include Jesse Garcia, Sarah Chaudhry, and Kristen Redding.
