NEWARK - A maintenance director at Maher Terminals in Union County today admitted his role in soliciting and accepting bribes to award contracts for demolition and construction projects at a container ship terminal facility, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced. Donald Olesky, 54, of Sayreville pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with two counts of using, and causing to be used, the mail in aid of an unlawful activity, specifically commercial bribery under New Jersey law. Olesky entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson in Trenton federal court.

LAKEWOOD - A trial date has been set for the Lakewood man who's accused of stealing at least $200million from investors. 36-year-old Eliyahu Weinstein has pleaded not guilty on a 45 count indictment. He's been charged with bank and wire fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. The trail date is set for January 3rd, 2013. He's free on $10million dollars bail but is being closely monitored under house detention.

LAKEWOOD - Thanksgiving might be just another day on the road for school bus drivers in one Ocean County town. Lakewood is asking drivers to work in order to transport 18,000 Orthodox Jewish students to and from their private schools in the township. The schools previously waived their right to busing on Thanksgiving but safety concerns appear to be changing that. The school board attorney says he would personally pay to provide a pumpkin pie or dessert to the bus drivers who work next Thursday.

NEWARK, Del. (AP) -- Governor Chris Christie is giving two major speeches today. He'll be in Secaucus this morning to talk about his education agenda. This evening, he'll visit his alma mater -- the University of Delaware -- to talk about the challenges facing governors.

ISLAND HEIGHTS - A house fire in Island Heights leaves a family homeless. Police say the blaze began yesterday afternoon in the basement of the Summit Avenue dwelling. No one was injured and several fire companies responded. An investigation shows it started in a heating unit.

UNION BEACH - State, county and local police cancel an Amber Alert for a 22-year-old woman who unlawfully walked off with her toddler son in Union Beach last night. Police say Jessica Donohue was incoherent and made alarming statements when leaving a Cambridge Avenue residence with NathanCaballero at around 6:14 p.m.

FREEHOLD - More fallout in the Freehold Regional school district diploma mill scandal. Reports Say Assistant Superintendent Donna Evangelista will be paying the district back the $5400 it shelled out in tuition reimbursements and raises. A school official says they will not seek repayment from any retired employee. Former Superintendent James Wasser, who also came under fire for the PhD he received through a diploma mill, retired last year.

LITTLE EGG HARBOR - A suspected house burglar eludes police in Little Egg Harbor. An air-and-land search that sent several pinelands regional schools into lockdown Tuesday turned up no trace, but sources tell us that township police are focusing on one individual to take into custody.

UNION BEACH - Monmouth sheriff's officers serving a non-support warrant in Union Beach emerge with a significant drug arrest. Officers seeking 21-year-old Nicole Vansant Friday found her in the Central Avenue house with 37-year-old John Graf and also several bags of suspected crack in plain view. Investigators armed with a warrant say they found about a hundred bags of the substance, drug-related items and more than 600-dollars cash. Vansant and Graf are now in the Monmouth County Jail.
